Does my home affect installation

The West Midlands is a mix of Victorian cities, Black Country industrial towns and suburbs, and each brings its own considerations when opting to add a stove or wood burner.

  • Birmingham’s Victorian and Edwardian streets
Terraces and semis in areas like Moseley, Kings Heath, and Handsworth were built with working fireplaces as the main heating source. With the advent of central heating, many have been blocked up. Our flue liner replacement team can rectify this, even if they are in poor condition.
  • Black Country terraces
Older terraced homes in Dudley, Walsall, and West Brom often have smaller openings and shallower chimney breasts, which means there is no standard size for stoves and chambers that will fit.
  • Coventry’s post-war rebuild
Much of Coventry was rebuilt after the Second World War, so newer estates are often surrounded by 1950s and 60s stocks. If your 50s house was built without a usable chimney, a twin-wall flue system gets round this issue.
  • Larger suburban homes
In areas like Solihull and Sutton Coldfield, bigger living spaces downstairs and open plan living can mean a larger stove is needed. We’ll discuss your needs with you at your home visit, so be sure to tell us how you use your space and we’ll advise on if a larger stove is best.

Great service, quick to respond to initial query and Callum always responded to any queries in between I had too. Stove looks great, was surprised how quick the two lads get.the job done as it's all spot on. Can't wait for the winter now!

Smoke control rules across the West Midlands

Birmingham’s rules changed in 2026, with a new Smoke Control Order that came into effect on 23rd March 2026. This order focuses on keeping the whole city a smoke control area, including boats moored on the canals, which affects what can be burned and which appliances (log burners or stoves) are now exempt.

If you are weighing up a multi-fuel stove this is especially relevant for you. To work hand-in-hand with new legislation, all of our stoves are Defra-approved, which means that properly dried logs that are manufacturer-approved should be completely fine.

If you live in Coventry, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall, and Solihull, insight from our local installation team is invaluable, as they will be aware of the rules set out by each council.

From online quote to lit stove

Every order starts the same way, with our stove package builder: choose your favourite stove, then add the chamber, hearth, and beam, and the price changes as you go, so you always know what the actual materials will cost.

Jordan will then visit your home and talk through how you use your home and the chimney, stove, or burner you like best, before booking the fitting. On install day, our experienced local fitters will then line the flue, set the stove, finish the chamber and hearth, and thoroughly clear up before they go, so you can enjoy your new addition right away.

Every West Midlands stove installation is completed by a HETAS-registered team, so you don’t need a separate building control sign-off appointment, and we can self-certify, giving you your certificate without the delay.
